Owls in Winter

At this time of year the noise of owls calling and hooting in the sharp winter season air is wonderful. I am constantly surprised and delighted to hear an Owl. I might often hear them however hardly ever see them. Tawny Owls are among the most common and this is shown in the image, really beautiful.

Tawny Owls tend to live and stay in the very same territory which implies the pair which live within audio range to our home can be heard rather routinely.

The RSPB advise that the noise of the Tawny Owl, the familiar to-wit, kewit followed by to-woo, hooo remains in fact two Owls the female first followed by the male response.
